My Reverie

I am trying to find a chart for My Reverie. Sonny Rollins played it on Saxophone Colossus.

The song was written by Larry Clinton back in the 1930s. It is based on a piece of music by Debussy.

I have searched quite a few online stores, but without success.

Anyone got a good source for sheet music that they would like to recommend?

Great tune.

A start would be to get the Debussy and go from there. This must be available as a MIDI file at least, you can these use a free notation software to print out.

Thanks, Pete.
I have since found the melody + chords in an anthology, The All-American Songbook, and it is now winging its way across the Atlantic, I hope.

Strange how some great tunes fall by the way-side. Ella's vocal rendition was first class and Sonny's tenor solo on his "Tenor Madness" album is a gem. But it still does not get into the Real Books.

There are dozens of versions of My Reverie listed among the downloads on the HMV site. Lots of vocalists and quite a few jazzers. I did not notice Ray Ebele (but then I had never heard of him before, so I wouldn't have). It is a treat to hear Ella Fitzgerald singing it and then Sonny Rollins playing it. And only 80p per track! (HMV should pay me for these plugs)

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
