Microphones Microphone recommendations for recording to camera

Hi all,
I'd like some recommendations for reasonable microphones for recording straight to a camera (minijack).
I was going to record to a computer and have a Yeti that works with that, but now have to use a smaller computer-less room to record in and would prefer to just go straight into the camera rather than the kerfuffle of synching later.
The recordings are just for my own improvement so I can see my fingers and hear my sound, so I don't need anything super-fancy, just a decent budget mic. Also happy to listen to any advice on recording, mic position etc. The camera I will be using is a Canon M50.

For your stated purpose almost any cheap dynamic microphone will do, but you may need an adapter plug to fit your camera. If your volume isn't high enough then you'd need a little/cheap preamp/mixer.

For good quality recordings you'd probably want a decent condenser microphone using a computer to edit/contour your sound and match to a backing (if using one). If being matched to visuals that's done in a video edit by importing the edited sound. The tricky bit can be syncing the sound to the visuals, especially if your rhythm/timing isn't great.

I'd probably go for something like this from Rode: mounts on to camera hot shoe and has a 3.5mm - recommended for instrument use according to their website and available for about £150 - they do a more premium model but that is just silly money:

I use an old Iphone together with a Zomm H1 when I play in the woodshed. The Iphone/camera can be placed closed to me and the sax. The microphone in this case picks up the sound from the PA. Good acustic in the room gives me better recordings. I just balance my sax by blowing into a Shure SM 57 or 58

In my house I use an Iphone with Roland GoMixer. Backing tracks/rhythms from a laptop, record into a Iphone and just mix in the sax. I use headphones as well. Same micophones, but there are not good enough for this type of recording.

I just record myself to remember ideas.
