Microphones microphone lead

hello all.

I have just purchased a clip on microphone from a company called JTS, they make both a wired and a wireless version the cx 508 or cx 508 w.
I opted for the wired version, and i'm very pleased with it.
the only problem is that the cable is not as long as i would like, it has a female xlr fitting which has to be phantom powered, my question is could i get another mic lead with male/female xlr and plug it into the mics cable? and if so would it have to be a special type as it is going into phantom power unit?
