I would like to start making some recordings of myself playing solo sax for practice, onto my iPhone 4s with an app that I have just purchased.

Can anyone recommend a reasonable microphone that can be used for this purpose, please?

Hi,

http://www.musik-gattermann.at/product_info.php?info=p14456_TASCAM-IM2--wei--.html

good and extremely cheap. (Same mic as in some Tascam recorders.)
This shop is in Austria, and as far as I could see they charge €4,90 for shipping to GB.
And they accept paypal.

I noticed they selling it at this price because I owned one and got more for it at an ebay-auction.

Cheers,
Guenne

Really Really good mic for the money!!!!!!
I was almost going to buy a zoom portable recorder for rehearsals until I found it at a local shop for 20euros because it's not "iPhone5 ready"... I still have a 4s so... I got it. It's great to record my self and remember how much practice I still need. It was really useful also at band rehearsals. Loud guitars and 5 horns in a small-medium room. My iphone was at the middle. The recording quality is great for a portable cheap 16-bit solution. Much better than I thought. The including software lets you meter the input and put limiters if you need them etc.

Excellant purchase in the middle of 2014 because it's very cheap.
It can serve as a cheap mic for rehearsals and self evaluation recordings.
