Very pleased to be asked to host BotM.

After trawling through the archive to make sure I picked a tune we haven't done before, I've selected a song 90ish years old. The very thought of you.
It's a deceptively simple melody with a lovely sentiment in the lyric. Many version have cropped up over the years. I first became aware of it by Nat King Cole. As my interest in 1920/30's dance music grew I learned it's a Ray Noble song from the 1920's.

It's in the very romantic key of Ab. Backing track has 8 bars intro and twice through. ABAB format with no surprises.

Enjoy

Look at the faces in this clip from "Young man with a horn" Kirk on Trumpet, Doris on vocals. Hoagy Carmichael on piano.

Nice one from Rod making his come back after having throat surgery and finding he could still sing but with a voice that was an octave lower.

Who's this dueting with Tony?

Very quick take on Yamaha YAS 62 Mk I, Jody Jazz DV MP 5 'new' old ! 3S Jazz Select reed. Mic placement probably too high picking up the occasional bubbling. Will give the Tenor a go after a couple of pads are replaced.

Man that's slow. Very brave playing so slow 😉
