I did my singing exams when my voice was changing (14-16yo). That was pathetic.
The essential thing is being able to think a majors scale, not technically to sing it.

Play a C major scale on the keyboard. Then lay a C, think a D, play a D, think an E, play an E.....

What's happened to music in schools. In Scotland all the kids in primary school( at least when I went to school) would sing and be taught how to sing a major scale . ie Do Re. etc.🙂

This might help. A major scale is made up of two identical "tetrachords" which simply means four note segments of a scale that are stacked on one another.

Do Re Mi Fa is the first whose intervals are Whole step, Whole step, Half step ( W W H )

So La Ti Do is the second whose intervals are also W W H

In order to mentally hear and reproduce any major scale requires only that you internalize the sound of this pattern of notes.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
