Hi All,

Firstly Prof... I do NOT have GAS, I swear!

My Yamaha 4C for the Alto finally arrived today (they seem to be out of stock everywhere) and the ligature from my current mouth piece doesn't fit it. It's far too small.

I need a recommendation for a good source for a basic, cheap, ligature I can get ideally here (Milton Keynes) tomorrow, which is very unlikely, or at the very least by Monday so I can have a night to practice before my lesson on Tuesday.

Please and thank you!!

PS do we have like a blog where we can post about how we're getting on?

PPS My lips are really sore but this Sax business is so much fun!

Love my Rovner Versa on Sop.

Sax.co.uk usually good not sure what their delivery charges are or if the do next day, very helpful though

I had a screw go on my lig halfway through a concert, so I used a rubber washer from my tool box, my teacher who was sat beside me thought I sounded better in the second half, I'd like to think she was taking the mick.

Thank you all for your prompt and helpful responses.

I've ordered one off the people Prof suggested and should hopefully be here on Monday.

If you cannot get one Saahil then I can loan you one for tomorrow. I can meet you half way from Milton Keynes - High Wycombe way - around lunchtime. Let me know

Prof that's a really kind offer, much appreciated! I've got a mouthpiece for the time being, would feel really mean to inconvenience you just so I can play with the new toy!

Saahil....it's not a problem honestly! I am heading to Lane End/West Wycombe for 1.00pm. Can loan you a couple if you want?

GAS is good isn't it?

Vandoren masters ligature.
I still have my 4c. It;s a perfect match and a nice quality ligature with screws on the top side.
I have one for the tenor too. Most of my usual shaped HR and ebonite mpcs fit just fine.

or that drawer you stuff random objects into.
What Michael Macintyre calls the "man drawer". Everything goes in there.
Get a Rovner. Single screw and holds the reed firmly without the danger of damage from a metal lig. Like the others said, Dawkes, Sax Co or Just Flutes will get one to you quickly but there are other temporary solutions.
