Ligatures Ligature position

Hi

I just bought a vandoren optimum V16 ligature for my tenor link. It doesn't quite fit. I think the ligature should be a little bit further up the mpc. It gets stuck at this position.

It is meant for Vandoren V16 tenor Mpc.

I've just tried and my Vandoren Optimum V16 ligature fits just right on my tenor Link STM. It can slide to any position and then you can tighten it to hold the reed securely.

I know that Link STM tenor pieces vary quite a lot - mine is a late 70s or early 80s piece. The ridge on the back of the mouthpiece means that most other ligatures aren't very secure, but this seems like a nice combination on mine.

You can maybe bend the top with to fit the ridge on the Link better. Should give you the extra mm or so you need.

Rico make a Lig especially for the Link. It would be better just to get a better mouthpiece to go with the ligature, and use the Link as an ornament, or something.
