Leblanc Rationale alto model 100 [Full not Vito]
I have not played this much in two years so it would benefit from a full checkover, I mostly play tenor now, played it today sounds as good as ever. Serial no 1101, rarer than a Mark VI and almost as rare as hen's teeth. Serial No. also present on original neck, no pulldown.
Case is original black canvas. Left hand clasp is loose but works. The handle has been replaced with old leather handle. Useable but in need of attention. I never used this myself while transporting. The bell keys are on the LH side. Take advice when buying one, Hiscox was recommended to me.
The lacquer is about 75-80% present and original. If it's shiny bling you're after this is not for you.The most noticeable loss is on the bell which I have tried to show.
There has been one solder repair to the F♯ key guard, which has been quite well done, picture shows expected wear to thumb hook lacquer.
One of the gold plated wire springs on the octave mechanism has been replaced with a blue steel spring but functions ok [Can be seen in the picture just above and to the right of the oval mother of pearl thumb rest].
The pads are in good shape and it plays well from bottom Bb to top F♯. The F♯ is unusual and is played using the ring finger of the left hand, there are several other finger combinations unique to this sax.
All the locking nuts used to adjust the regulation are present.
The intonation is superb and is very free blowing.
Asking price £1400 OVNO
You are welcome to try, by arrangement, I would rather personal pick up cash on collection (near Chepstow Monmouthshire) but can arrange for a courier at the buyers expense. UK BUYERS ONLY PLEASE. ADVERTISED ELSEWHERE AND MAY BE WITHDRAWN
