(An old mate of mine does a bit of ska/reggae dj'ing by the name of Skinny Boy Alex - wonder if you ever come across him? I think he works mostly in Cambridge/Suffolk/Essex though.)

Some pictures of us at Kippertronix with ex Splitters front man and local legend Braidley who I played with in the Bedlamites some time ago, his newly formed band Fall from King were on at 6.00 we went on at 9.30, absolutely brilliant gig, played a couple of blinding solos and Braidley even did a guest spot with us (if I find a video of it I'll put it up).

Had to share this with you, well what happened was me and Steve (the trumpet player) were in full swing when suddenly the trumpet player from "another" band decided to invade the stage, he was well ****ed by the way! if you look at the picture you'll see my sax on it's stand and mine and Steve's monitors, well after knocking my mic stand flying (twice!) and the microphone hitting my sax! he fell over my stand and got his head stuck between the two monitors, he just lay there motionless, so funny then he got up and tried to swing from my shoulders whilst I was playing, my natural instinct was to throw him off but then I remembered watching Drew Stansall playing one time and a drunk jumping on his back, he just finished his solo and didn't bat an eyelid or even miss a note! so that's what I did and it went the same, was funny though...

Hm… sounds like punch worthy conduct in my books (or at least a hefty shove). I’ve played a lot of punky gigs in my time so am used to stage chaos- folks falling over monitors, grabbing vocal mics and assorted carnage but monkeying with my kit or ability to ‘function’ on stage has always made me see red…..

Yes Jules it was really hot in there, ridiculously hot in fact! am looking forward to doing more of the same though!

'S ok for you guys with your 3/4 lengths & Hawaiians... in Fat45 all have to wear suits (see avatar).... 🙁 Worse than that- I once played a ridiculously hot gig with a drummer who was dressed as a gorilla.... boy did was he soaked after our set! He must have lost about a stone in fourty five minutes....
