Saxophones King Super 22 anyone??

My guess is a late 80s model thats been hot-rodded and engraved probably by Jason Dumars, notice the pearl that are stuck on rather than screwed on, i bet its a great player as well..

Looks great for a bit of rock n roll posing. But, add on VAT, import duty, shipping, VAT and import duty on the shipping and it'll be £3500 rather than $3500. You could get a mighty fine new sax for that - wouldn't look as leopard skin but would play better.

Heart says, "Snazzy engraving"
Head says, "It'll rot"

Not sure if this is genuine or not. It's a lot of money and a long drive. I wouldn't risk it.

I agree. There is a lot of rumours about the King Super 20's after the H.N. White era. This sax is stamped Eastlake on the bell. Not just "USA". So it's not a 2416 model. UMI did a few King Super 21 in the mid 90's. But the " King SUPER 21" was a new construction and they were made in Nogales, AZ.

Shows how little I know - I didn`t even know there was a Super-21 let alone MexiKings - Explains why this horn is called the Super-22 anyway ..

The only "Super-21" I`ve seen was an incredibly tatty Yamaha Student horn from the early 70s 😀

@altissimo - thanks for the link - interesting SOTW thread 😉 - pity it's a bling bling pimp job in a way - but having said that and from a visual point of view - it's still a crackin' lookin' horn !!! kind've classic 50's rock'n'roll kandy kolored tangerine flake streamline hot rod look with a touch of Art Deco. Just those palm'n'pinky key pearls say Rock-On with a capital R to me. I'm off to the Chinese fish and chip shop to root in the the bins for some Abalone shells . . . .
