I only mentioned this thread a few days ago: http://thesax.info/blog/alfredo-santoni-and-the-mysterious-production-of-saxophones/

The photos of the various DA and SDA clones are linked to on this page: http://thesax.info/buffet-santoni.html

Look at the Emperor Tenor. The photos are identical to this one for sale on eBay US: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Emperor-Sax...195?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19db21babb

So, for around £325, duty paid, you can have a DA Tenor clone needing some work. But how good are they, that's the question? Not one for me to risk. How about someone else?

Now why would I want another one? Mine has an adjustable thumbrest.

Would make a nice buy for someone, but they say it needs work.... But they also say they don't know instruments.

Not for me, I'm not buying any more saxes for a while.

Not a saxophone expert, but all the components appear to be here. Always better to buy vintage, than new, as the older stuff is just made better than the products that have been put out in later years.

The second statement confirms the first.
