Is it by one of the guys that Ellington ripped off? Same changes as In a Mellow Tone?
BTW As a tenor player, it does suggest we are all show offs.

Good video. Stompin' at the Savoy and mention of Goodman reminded me I have a 78 (but no means of playing it now!) of the number by Woody Herman's New Third Herd on the London Label. I can't date it but the Third Herd must be early 1950s after the Four Brothers Second Herd which broke up in 1949. The number is attributed to Sampson (?), Goodman, Webb (Chick?) and Andy Razaf which sounds an odd mix.
