July 2015 BOTM First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

@Chris found the tissues @U CAN CALL ME AL thank you for getting us off to a wonderful start, lots of emotion in that. :thanks1:

I can't wait to get home on Sunday and listen on proper speakers but sounding good even on a tablet :)

@Chris struggling to load can you post a link too, I can't wait to hear yours :)

@Chris can't put my finger or rather ear on why you sound much cleaner than usual. Have you changed your recording set up?
Enjoyed the post very much. Al

Mine such as it is. No offense to BIAB, I use it myself, but sometimes I just can't hear audio clues to coming chord changes with it. I went with a karaoke track instead after a few failed attempts. I'm not happy with my barely in tune playing but here it is any way. https://app.box.com/s/vqoc6f98ksatll9dghxvjuvn5r6o26dx

I found this lovely song quite challenging, and that's without any improvisation. Like I used to tell my students, "Slow music is a lot harder to play than fast music". This tune gives evidence of that fact. My best effort is done on a Conn 10M (naked lady) tenor with an Ernie Northway custom mouthpiece. I found the "karaokee" backing track that was done in the style of Celine Dion's recording.

@Chris it worked this morning! Love the pic and very much loved the playing, just the right amount of tension. Al makes a good point about it being cleaner, I have noticed that more lately in your recordings all good :)

@jbt thank you for posting, a great version, love the pic too :)

@jimmylh I am having trouble logging in to box. I will keep trying though.

Guys, I hope you bought shares in Kleenex before you started posting!

I can't believe how quick you all are to get these recordings to such a high standard.

I changed the mic to an AT8033 from 'audio technics'. This was a really nice tune to play.

This may be of interest [YouTube Link]

I want one of those hats

Jimmy the link doesn't want to work.

Cheers Jeanette, I think this tune is going to make for a good month. As I said to Al I changed the mic.

Hard this one. So simple. I got a bit carried away with the backing track and need to concentrate on the playing a bit more. Here's where I'm at.

Influenced by the "Acker Bilk" version Colin:) Sounded v,good. Not totally convinced by the backing for this tune, but hey everything with music is so personal. Lovely first version:)

Chris..

I'm not giving up on this arrangement yet! A few tweaks to the arrangement, slapped the piano player and sent the drummer to another room.

I downloaded an app that makes the clarinet sound like an alto. What you think?

I am still singing every breath you take at the beginning, sorry the BT does feel like it is fighting you and stands out more than the sax :(

But it is different and if I didn't know either every breath or each time on second listen it is growing on me :)

Spoiler alert.

No saxophone is involved with the recording of this track.
