Somehow this ended up with me again. There was some discussion, with suggestions that I pick a classical song. Things went through my mind, like Ode to Joy from Beethoven's 9th symphony, something from one of Handel's oratorios. Maybe plainchant, but I thought that was pushing it too far. Then Greensleeves came up - modal, well known, simple. But although the style is made for improvisation, it's not really what the thread is for.

So I ended up slightly more modern, this is a traditional tune dating back hundreds of years, with words dating back to 1931. So timeless that Cat Stevens (as he was then) recorded it in the 70s and it became a hit. Very simple, easy to play - but challenging enough to play well and keep it effortless/joyful. It's something that puts me in a good mood - and that's important at the moment.

Chris has kindly provided notes and a backing track. Have fun!

Here's the Cat stevens version:

Another nice one:

And (dare I mention the perfomer here?)

And a Karaoke verion in case you want a different backing:

Luc, thanks for getting the ball rolling. I liked the second version better. Nice tone.

Jimmy, I did what you said, couldn't hear anything. So I took my hands away. Very nice. Worked well.

Husband, nice, simple and clean, just what the tune needs. Nice backing track!

Look forward to your version then...;)
Hope you are not disappointed. Two for the price of one. One of these is on the Absolute cutie and the other my usual Ed Pillinger.

Neither are brilliant (my recordings not the mouthpieces) but which do you think has most promise tonally??

I must say when I first played the cutie both Trimmy and I thought it had something special but listening to these I'm not sure I hear as much difference.

@aldevis @jbtsax would really appreciate your thoughts :)

Also Al the TTT won't work with the absolute, I was miles out pushing it all the way on.
