I just got round to downloading this recording of a "foyer concert" that I and other members of the Queen Mary College (Basingstoke) Jazz group played on July 1st 2014. We're just a bunch of older players who get together on Tuesday evenings for the pleasure of it. This was our opener.

It's a little shambolic in places, and it's far from perfect in so many ways, but I hope you can hear what terrific fun it is, and what a motivator.
So, no matter how much of a beginner you are, my advice is join a band. Playing with others adds so much to the enjoyment. We've had the summer off, but Tuesday week, we start again, and I can't wait.
