A friend of mine was learning "Jazz" and he told me this is jazz scale.

Well, one of the scales I need to learn for my grade 3 Jazz exam is the Blues scale on A. Which is:

A C D D# E G A

Don't know if that's of use?

There is a lot of use of the blues scale in jazz.

Jazz uses scales from everywhere. Whatever fits

This is the A minor blues scale, see Pete's article (link in my previous post), many people just refer to the minor blues scale as The blues scale, ignoring the existence of the major blues scales.

As the others have said yes - it was the first thing we learned at the jazz class I go to. Some jazz is more bluesy ie Summertime (which is also a standard) hth
