Hi Everyone

Our next workshop is set for 1st to 3rd August 2013, with Derek Nash (Jools Holland, Sax Appeal) running the workshop alongside James Rawlinson. Based at Durlston School in Hampshire.

Set in beautiful grounds with stunning facilities, this two and a half day workshop is designed to improve your sight-reading, ensemble playing, improvisation skills and overall musicianship in this fun and intensive course.

Workshops to include:

- Playing Sax Appeal charts
- Improvisation Sessions
- Rhythm Development
- Evening Jam on the Thursday evening

Derek and James are both experienced educators as well as professional saxophonists.

A full professional rhythm section is on hand throughout the full duration of the course including the evening jam session.

What kind of level do you expect the students to be? That is....how good do you have to be to get any kind of benefit?

Hi

I would say around Grade 4 for the chart reading, there will be some sight reading. For the improvisation sessions you can be any level, just a willingness to give it a go is what is required. Both Derek Nash and James Rawlinson are experienced educators who will help and guide improvisers of any level. Hope that helps.
