I am trying my hand at promoting jazz gigs in Exeter. I will be trying to recoup costs as much as possible through ticket sales but it will inevitably involve some personal sponsorship on my part, so please come along and support the music!

The first gig will be the excellent alto player Christian Brewer at the Exeter Phoenix on Saturday December 11th at 8 pm. He will play with the Pete Canter Quartet featuring Jim Blomfield on piano. Intimate, candle lit cabaret-style seating, top notch playing, it should be a great night - please come along!

Tickets from the Exeter Phoenix 01392 667080 and www.exeterphoenix.org.uk . See www.christianbrewer.co.uk.

"..a truly superlative debut, the standard of playing is phenomenal. Brewer is a superb alto saxophonist and an excellent composer" - Ian Carr.

Seesaw - "Jazz Cd of the week Christian Brewer Quintet 4****stars" -Jack Massarick, Evening Standard.

Hi Rundlefish, I don't know if you've noticed this thread Breakfast Room Jam and Gig Guide, its at the top of the Breakfast room page and it's a resource for such events as yours. It's a map run by Google with places and reviews where gigs and jams are held. Perhaps you'd like to make use of it as it's linked to several other websites. I'd add it for you but for some reason my pc is playing up.
I hope it helps with your venture.

I'm nowhere near Exeter unfortunately, but i wish you the very best of luck with your gigs. There aren't enough jazz gigs around.
