Hi,
I am part of a new jazz and blues group called Jazz Blowers, who meet every Tuesday from 7-9pm at Hurworth Grange Community Centre near Darlington, in the North East of England. The group is led by local Sax teacher and performer Steve Bone. The intention is to learn jazz and blues standards, as a group, and develop our improvisational, as well as ensemble playing skills, and put on regular gigs - the first is this Thursday - I opened a thread on the gig in the 'playing' section of Cafe Saxophone (I'm not 100% sure of the protocol for advertising gigs).
It's going really well at present, and all the members are loving it! Numbers are striictly limited, but we do have space for another two or three players, if anybody is interested - it's an informal setting, and everybody can find their own level, and we have members from school age to (not to upset anybody) shall I say quite a bit older than school age!!(and Steve is a great teacher!). Please drop an email to
jazzblowersATgooglemail.com
if interested
Cheers, Trevor
