It was Les Dawson, playing piano for a sing along during one of his sixties radio programmes.

As those who know of his work will agree, one of jazz's best improvising pianist.

Probably a close second to Bach. A Beeb programme recently claimed him as the first swing pianist. My sax teacher said forget 20th C jazz, JSB was doing syncopation and walking bass lines 200 years ago. He would have loved what goes on today!
