Hey guys, happy to join here. I'm a flute specialist from India, but I play a lot of other instruments too. Though I did mostly classical first, I'm getting more into Brazilian and Latin music now, as well as other folk music.
Getting used to improvisation (which I had to do when I left orchestra) was hard to do, but it's improved my classical playing and general approach to music so much! I now also play dizi, bawu, recorder, bansuri, and trying to figure out shakuhachi and ney as well.
My main sax is a Mauriat alto, though I play a bit of STB too, not much cos I don't have great STB saxes... hope to do something about that.
Cheers!

Hi Shirish. Big welcome from me. Interestign mix of instruments you play.

Have fun here.

....I was expecting you to be 1. Shy and 2. Irish.......! No problem!

A Big Welcome to Cafe Saxophone from The Skabertawe Horn Section, down by yer in South Wales, mind! Good to hear that you play Alto, which is my favourite axe - just been doing some improvisation to Dave Brubeck's "Here comes McBride" which has 15 choruses, so having a quiet sit down.

Look forward to getting to know you over the coming weeks and months.
Kind regards
Tom

Welcome to the caff©, Shiriish.

Do all your instruments seem to work the same way Western woodwinds do, with a scale available using the first, second and third fingers of the right and left hands?

ENJOY!
