i prefer the tongue placed centrally on the reed, but lightly, as opposed to putting it on one side, however as the gentleman says, whatever works for you is fine.

I like the sound of "Dooden" better.

This will come in handy with the Bird playalong that Steve John B sent me.
I really need to up my game with articulation and tonguing to get anywhere near full tempo with this stuff.

Rubber band , running repair for broken spring. Also for self accompanying bass line in one note samba and for firing paper pellets at folk talking during your solo.

My problem is that I tongue so lightly anyway that people think I'm slurring when I'm not ,that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...john

You can.

However on the example on my page I have used it alternating with a real note. It's interesting to apply degrees of ghosting for extra expression, so you can vary the technique from 1% (practically inaudible) to 99% (almost the same as a proper note)

I was trying to tell humorous porkies,I too am in glorious sterio and have been for some 20 yrs or more I am inclined to put it down to ear ache from she who must be obeyed but think that may be disputed by many of our fairer sex....john

Yes John, might just do that you know, last time i went to Manchester was back in January 87 while the moors murder inquiry had been re-opened, bit spooky driving over Saddleworth in thick snow in an old land rover middle of the night thinking about those poor kids..

Your more than welcome to have a blow on any of my sax's as is anybody on the forum....been using the King a bit lately and thinking more and more about a Silversonic tenor all the time!

unless I'm mistaken "dooden" makes sense if they are also called Ghost notes .... as "dood" is "dead" in Dutch and "doden" are dead people!
