Hello everyone,
I would like to discuss my Quarter Tone Saxophone project, and what it has yielded in terms of my playing. I originally began this project early 2016, when I began writing my book Quarter Tone Technique for Saxophone. Originally, I found the music very difficult to play, but as I progressed, my control over the horn became better, and I was able to produce quarter tones more easily, reliably, and with the same timbre as the rest of my instrument. However, quite unexpectedly, I realized, over the months of practice, that my classical sound improved dramatically. This came as a shock, especially because I did not even set out to improve my classical tone at all throughout this project.
