Ibert - Histoires

I am hoping for some advice. The ATCL diploma syllabus (saxophone) has a piece by Ibert - three or more contrasting movements from Histoires, published by Lemoine.

Much as I have searched, I have only been able to find said piece published by Leduc.

I have e-mailed United Music Publishers (the UK arm of Lemoine) but had no response. The internet rather suggests that UMP have "gone bust".

I have just e-mailed Trinity School of Music to ask if the Leduc piece is the correct piece, or of the same standard.

But does anyone already know whether the Leduc published piece is the same standard as the Lemoine published piece, or does anyone have a copy of the Lemoine piece (alto sax and piano) that I can buy from them?

I really don't want to work on a piece for exam performance, only to discover I have done the wrong piece, of an unacceptable standard.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure there is only one version of Histoires for sax and piano. It's the arrangement by Marcel Mule originally published by Leduc. It won't be wrong - it's been an exam piece for donkey's years.
Movements 1,3 and 9?

You could send a request to Dorn Publications. They have virtually every saxophone edition in stock and in some cases can even track something down for you if they don't normally carry it.

I got a message back form someone somewhere, maybe the publishers or maybe Trinity....anyway, it turned out that it is the Leduc piece, and not Lemoine (even though that is what is one the syllabus!) :headscratch:
And I now have a copy, thanks all. 😉

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
