hi all,
having always admired the sound of the saxophone
i now find myself having the time and money, albeit limited,
to start out on a new adventure. I played recorder, treble & tenor at school
but thats so many years ago its scary! music wise i love the blues, stevie ray, joe beard, eric bibb, joplin,
also like a lot of rock and the list could go on & on so quite varied tastes.
i used this site to find advice on best sax to start with and decided on a new hanson sa5 rather than a second hand
yamaha. they were very helpful on the phone and the sax arived promptly and is gorgeous and i managed to
play a few notes and experiment a little. unfortunately though, i've found a broken bit! hubby (engineer) says it has come apart after sax was plated. one of the guards around a key/pad (not very up in sax speak yet) has come of the body. I'm very disappointed and haven't touched it since. Dont get me wrong though, it hasnt put me off, not even the make, as even i could get a nice sound from it.will ring hanson on tues to get this problem sorted. well this started out as aquick hello but has turned into a bit of a ramble:) will leave you be now and hope to be
back learning again soon.

enjoy your easter eggs!

Helloooo and welcome!

I'm sure Hansons will sort your sax quickly for you.

Enjoy playing once you've got it fixed.

Cheers,

Amanda

yes, get on the phone to them, should be replaced under warranty. Guess it'll have to wait until Tuesday.

Hey rasta ...

Welcome to the Cafe ... :thumb:

Sorry to hear about the broken bit - but don't worry I am sure they will fix it up like new.

Did you really send us all Easter Eggs? - Mine hasn't arrived yet ...

Hi Rasta and welcome to the cafe. I would be inclined to play away until Tuesday, what harm can it do?

Welcome to the caff©, Rasta.

Nice thing about recorder, flute and sax is that the first, second and third fingers on both hands have the same effect.

ENJOY!™

Hi Rasta Big welcome. I played Tenor recorder at school 70 years ago I believe it was a Carl Dolmeche but could be wrong. Got thrown out of the music class for trying to improvise on Handel's Water Music. Dr Weightman my music principle had no time for would be jazz instrumentalists. But I applaud him now for getting me interested in classical music. Regds N
