"Practical help for brass bands for learning the correct breathing and trial function.
6 variants available with different holes for use with mouthpieces, including ball collection basket.
The Astra Air-Stream Coach is a practical aid for brass musicians to learn breathing and trial function for playing a wind instrument or optimize.

During training, you try to get a ball in the basket to float by your breathing - this will succeed only under proper use of your respiratory muscles. There are several different weight bullets available, with which you can increase the difficulty of the exercises as you wish. (Don't breathe in, or you might just bite the bullet!)

Breath coach Astra is available in six variants that differ in different sized holes. In the holes the mouthpieces of the following instruments fit:

Bore: 8.5 mm diameter - for horn,
Bore: 8.5 mm diameter - for tenor saxophone,
Bore: 8.5 mm diameter - for alto saxophone
Bore 12 mm diameter - for trombone S,
Bore: 11 mm diameter - for trumpet,
Bore: 14 mm diameter - for tuba trombone & L.
If you perform the breathing exercises after a familiarization phase, your mouthpiece, you can automate the correct breathing and take over the breathing pattern naturally also playing your instrument.

Please specify the required hole after the purchase!"

Go on... you know you want one!!!!!! 😵

As a former professional diver, can somebody please tell me what is wrong with the water balloon method for strengthening ones diaphragm, or am I just getting old - I'm in my mid 30's and still have all my own hair.

This reminds me of the spirometer I had to blow into 3 times a day following my open heart surgery. Of course that one was made of plastic and had graduations on the side of the tube to measure the air volume and flow. I know I'm getting old since there is more hair in my hairbrush than on my head.

The word "emphysema" is jumping to mind.
Playing an instrument is not about power-blowing, it is about control.
