A lot of skill there, but I really don't like what he's doing with it. It's as if he's treating it as something comical. THat opening gliss, for example, wants to be smoooth and, dare I say it, sexy.
I agree, plus the audio distortion doesn't help.

Yes, I agree with you guys, the horse laugh, when it's Freddie Hubbard in funky jazz, works, but not in the Gershwin piece, where the gliss should be understated. Matter of taste, and maybe the conductor wanted that?

The soloist has the carrot but why isn’t the conductor using the stick......?

Too bad SYOS doesn't make clarinet mouthpieces as well. He could get one to match his clarinet. :)
