Hi all.
January is almost gone, but February is around the corner.
A month with only four weeks that feels like it will never end. Like someone playing accordion next door.
Even British Weather usually gets boring in February. But an even bigger boring event is on the way:
Just north of the White Hart, we now have Elizabeth, The Crossrail Tunnel Boring Machine.
It may sound like an avant-garde songwriting project, where a freejazz ensemble, (made of five french horns and an accordion), plays constantly while the singer mumbles "he left me, he left me" for four hours, but in reality it is some underground-related boring machinery.
I am not making this up (http://www.crossrail.co.uk/route/near-you).
To prevent side effects of The Boring Machine, this Sunday (2/2/2014 8:00pm JMT) the White Hart will offer the highly acclaimed Dave Hammer's Hammers Jammers.
An unmissable jam session where the aforemetioned Hammers Jammers will host musicians willing to join us on (the space formerly known as) stage.
Even accordion players will be welcome, providing that:
1- they can play
2- they never attended a mime or clown school.
After the refurbishment, the White Hart is getting better and better, building up a lovely audience and offering a great "jazz vibe" that does not necessarily involve turtleneck jumpers and beards.
Free entry
The White Hart pub is located at 1 Mile End Road, Stepney, LONDON E1 4TP, on the corner of Cambridge Heath Road, just 300m east of Whitechapel Station (District Line plus Hammersmith & City Line tube services, plus London Overground East London Line). Also, Bethnal Green (Central Line) and Shadwell (DLR) stations are only a ten minute walk away, there are several bus routes right outside the pub, and even Boris bikes just across the street. Check Sunday engineering works line/station closures at http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/livetravelnews/realtime/track.aspx?offset=weekend
I hope to see you there
