Hi, I am an enthusiastic novice tenor player. I play on a regular basis with a big band and I'm looking for any help, support and friendship I can get from like minded people. I really want to develop improvisation so look out for me, I'll be the one asking the silly questions about chords, harmony, key signatures, keeping time and the like!

Big welcome from me. The people around here are great from the really experienced to noobs like me. We do well at sharing our experiences, and helping each other out. Just look out for the crazies, they usually respond in text.

The Mendip Swing Big Band, I am privileged to play with, is essentially a charity band; although we kid ourselves that one day someone will pay us (and we keep it) to play!
We generally get 4-6 gigs per year the big one being MacMillan in Sept. We have developed a couple of good sets and props from the 40's which gets everyone dancing having a good time and giving to a worthy cause. I play the tenor and I love it!
