Bl@@dy great I love it. It arrived this morning at ten and I've just finished an hours playing with it and I'm well impressed!
It'll take me a little while to realy be able to do it justice, but I'm a very happy bunny indeed!

Hi Taz,

Good to hear you've got your PPT, I'm sure you're sounding great.

Are you in the 'honeymoon' period of having a new and let's face it, fantastic looking and highly desirable sax? Or have you landed on your feet with the baritone, is it your instrument as it were?

And I'm curious, is it louder than a tenor? I've always thought a baritone would be floorboard rattler that would have the neighbours banging on the door, but not necessarily in time or with appreciation of you're musical abilities.

Best wishes,

Chris

Which size did you get and what reeds are you using on it ? It took me a while to work out which ligature to use on my baritone PPT because some didn't quite fit and several others made it too bright and lively. I settled on something that looks like a plain Rovner and that seems to calm things down just enough.

And have you decided which mouthpiece to use for your Pink Floyd tribute gig in a couple of days ?

At the moment I'm using the lig that came with the Mauriat stock piece, it is a little bright but OK. I'm using La Voz medium soft and find them really quite nice. As for which to use on Saturday, I'm not sure. I'd like to use the PPT, but I love the Lawton. I'll probably use the PPT and have the Lawton as a spare just in case!
I've been practising the "Parry Flip" where he swaps from bari to tenor mid way through Shine on you Crazy diamond. It's not too hard and I do it slower than he does. I just don't do the glissando(?) before the swap so I have a little more time, the only other problem is the weight of two saxes around my neck!!

You lucky man.... Enjoy. Squeaks aside, I love the tenor one. And I'm growing into it!

Taz, did you get your PPT? was'nt quite sure if it had arrived? >:)

Chris, I don't know whether this is a honeymoon period or not, I just can't stop playing, looking and touching the bari. I have to pinch myself every now and then just to check I'm not dreaming. I think she's definitely my weapon of choice from now on. I've noticed now that the tenor is in need of some work, so I'll send her away for a service and see how she comes back.
I don't think the bari is any louder than the tenor, or could that just be me. I'm not sure to be honest.
All I know is that I've never derived so much pleasure from playing the sax, any sax!
Got to go, I think she's getting cold!
Oh, did I mention that my PPT has arrived!

You must let us know how you get on with your PPT? Have you thanked Pete yet !!!!!!!!!

"the only other problem is the weight of two saxes around my neck!!".

You`ll have to be careful you don`t ding the new lass Taz. Thats a lot of weight to accidently clang together.

Sorry to butt in.
