Sad news on the Radio 4, but 92 aint a bad innings.
Very very sad. My good lady wife is a big fan and deeply respects him for inventing the song title love/lunch game

(I'm in the Mood for Lunch, Lunch Changes Everything etc.)

Not some one I have heard of but that love/lunch
Sounds like a fun game to honour him....

How about
Save your lunch my darling save your lunch (renne and renatta)
Lunch over gold (straits).

Another Sad loss.

But like many others, he will live on in the hearts and heads and the notes played by those that admire and listen to his work and those that play his arrangements.

Very sad, but indeed a good age. I had not noticed he had been given a knighthood in 2007 for services to music. Lullaby of Birdland and his block chording approach to voicing were notable.
