You're in good company. Am another Antipodes fossil. You'll get lots of enjoyment from playing and relating to others who are doing the same.

And a welcome from me.

And at the risk of spoiling a joke, homo australopithecus never left Africa, and he lived a long time before any representative of the human race came to Australia.

And he used, what type of reeds?

Fossil must be very pleased, and possibly awed, by the learned turn his/her thread is taking.

The question of the reed type is not settled yet. Palaeontologists specialising in primitive music are still arguing the toss. A #10 made of a type of hickory seems to be the current favourite. Please don't ask about the mouthpiece.

Wikipedia.....fact
Living fossil
is an informal term used for any living species that is apparently identical or closely resembles a species previously known only from fossils—that is, it is as if the ancient fossil had "come to life."
Welcome to the forum oh wise one
you became wise when you decided to learn Sax and not some other devilish instrument.
