Please note: this is the cheaper of the Shure mics with ‘57’ in the name.

Specific details can be found on Shure’s website: PG57
What you get:
  • Shure PG57
  • Shure XLR Cable
  • Mic Clip
  • 5/8" to 3/8" Thread Adapter.
  • Storage Bag

The mic has not been used for vocals, it was used predominantly on guitar amps, and maybe a snare drum on one occasion.

This photo is of the actual mic and bits in question:

Shure-PG57

Condition: Excellent as it's only used a handful of times.

I’m looking for £30 with 10% to Pete’s charity.
Unfortunately it’s heavy so postage is as follows:
1st Class UK: £3.25
Special Delivery: £6.70

Thanks for looking,

Chris

Stupid question No.1 would this be suitable to use with a sax?

Stupid question No.2 Is it possible to get a cable for this that would allow me to record using my pc?

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Neither question is stupid.

No.1 would this be suitable to use with a sax? - Yes the mic is suitable for the sax, the robust nature of a dynamic mic would make it a strong contender for use on stage. For recording at home I'd personally prefer a capacitor mic but that doesn't mean it's not suitable.

Here goes my credibility, not that I have any, the following was done on the big brother of the mic I'm selling: Dynamic Mic

The recording set up looked like this:

No.2 Is it possible to get a cable for this that would allow me to record using my pc? - I would need a bit more info on your sound card, presuming that it is a 'standard' sound card in a PC or Mac then no, you would also need a small mixer or XLR to USB adapter.

I hope this helps,

All the best,

Chris

Hello Pete,

I've made the donation and the musical saw now has it's own mic!

Feel free to delete this thread.

All the best,

Chris
