Hi!

The other day, (the day before our school concert of all days) my friends saxopphone broke! All the notes bellow G# were not working, even when the octave key was pressed down. So I packed my sax away quickly and had a good look. Asked him to play the notes down and noticed a small noise. I saw that a pad was coming of and so I went to get some selotape to stick it back on. The teachers thought I was crazy, but it worked and later he replaced it with double sided tape! Quick thinking!

Just thought I'd share my tale just in case anybody had the same problem

Chewing gum also works well.

I've heard that cling film wrapped over the loose pad works as well. Anyway, well done.
