I have been asked, along with my vocalist, to perform at a first birthday party for my grandaughter at a local pub this Saturday in front of my family and friends. We are really looking forward to it in a nervous sort of way but at least as there is no charge, we won't have to return any entrance fees:shocked:

What a great but terrifying platform to start from! I hate playing in front of friends. Good luck, have a great time, but most importantly HAVE FUN! if your not enjoying yourself then neither will your audience.

Good luck. Just shut your eyes and go for it.... And like Taz said....

Good luck Andy :)

If your family is anything like mine, I'll pray for you !!! Well maybe just my elder brother is the pain lol, he would heckle me i kid you not. ( I'd tell him the party was Sunday lmao )

Good luck and keep us updated on how it went :)

You're a brave man Andy! Best of luck! Family is definitely the toughest audience to perform for! :w00t:

if you think thats tough try playing to school full teenagers ,great if it goes well but if they dont like your choice of music your really in trouble believe me

Thanks guys for all the support.
Well we did it, and had a really good time, and I wasn't at all as nervous as I thought I would be(all the open mic sessions recently must have helped there).
From the feedback we have received, we were very popular, including the landlady of the pub so who knows, maybe another one to follow soon. Apparently some people thought we were a hired band and asked how they could book us too
I will post some video I have when I get chance (pc currently under repair).
Thanks again for the good luck messages.

Well done Andy, it's a great feeling isn't it!

Nice Andy congrats, must be a good feeling and justification for all the hours of practice.

Maybe one day I will get there, just got to keep on blowing...

Cheers,

If you think playing in front of family is bad, try playing in front of a bunch of saxophone players.

Here is the video.
