Fireflies - & the eclipse

We went out earlier to look at the eclipse. Didn't see anything at first, but my wife spotted fireflies floating around in the garden. Many years since I've seen any, and the first time here. So just on that score it was a good evening. Then we decided to drive into the fields away from the houses and light. And there was the eclipse... A bit cloudy, but we watched for ages. Wonderful sight!

No eclipse here. Just rain. No fireflies either.

Ten tenths cloud so 'scope stayed in. However watched the eclipse/rising earlier in the day on Stellarium. It's freeware, Windows and Mac and can control GoTos.

Hope it is clear in 2015 when the event is next visible in the UK.
