and the main band has a concert on 23rd August 7:30pm at the Swan Theatre: http://www.worcesterlive.co.uk/events_review.asp?mid=8&offset=10&eid=453058217

If anyone can make it, please come along and enjoy your evening.

Baritone.
I had a choice of Tenor or Bari (they asked me to bring "lower" instruments) but I decided on Baritone.
I discovered I am "the dinosaur" at the start of the Jurassic Park theme.
Everyone else is playing ppp and I am whacking in sffz notes! 😀

What fun. I have played and conducted a lot of that Concert Band literature over the years. I especially like the music of John Williams. It is fun to play and audiences really like it too. Hopefully your conductor will include some medleys from musicals as well since many of them have been made into movies. Robert Russell Bennett has written some wonderful arrangements of musical scores for concert band. Colonel Bogey March from Bridge on the River Kwai which is one of my favorite British marches would be another good program number.

Our concert is tomorrow - St George's Church, Barbourne, Worcester. 7:30pm.
Tickets £10 on the door.
Come along and enjoy your evening.
I am the dinosaur in the intro to Jurassic Park!!!! 😀
