Looking for any info on possible manufacturer and age of older an alto sax,
Engraving of 'Fidelity" on the bell. Serial #0572
Inside case emblem of "Fidelity Deluxe - Custom Built"
Will provide pictures once I figure out to upload.

Thanks,
Brian

Please help us by posting shots of the other side, back and any numbers/markings there, and the Rh/lh table keys, palm keys. Also neck.

It's likely this was made by one of the big US makers, then engraved with the name of the seller/music store.

Thanks for the response Kev. The sax is currently being shipped. I will post additional pics once received.

In case someone notices it, I am aware of the broken octave floating lever mechanism in the above photo.

A couple of additional photos from the sellers web site that show a little more detail. Will forward additional pics when I get the horn.

A picture of the keyguard right at the bottom of the sax on the right-hand side will also be useful - Conn saxes have a distinctive pattern.

Received the sax today. Have determined it was made in Italy. Plays remarkably well given its apparent age. Beautiful deep dark finish. One small repair of the octave floating lever is all that's needed. Very pleased with this find for US $60 🙂

Must have been in storage a long time because the case wreaks of musty mildew odor. Case will be tossed as I have a spare one.
Hope these pictures help identify the manufacturer. Thinking it may be an Amati ??

Don't throw the case away. Mildew smell can be removed with bicarbonate of soda. Sprinkle liberally in the case, brush it into the pile, leave closed and vacuum out.

Hello Colin. Thanks for the reply. Is your recommendation to salvage the case based on maintaining valuation of the instrument?
Aside from the odor, the case is pretty banged up. Leather trim almost gone, inside material torn and stained.
I will give the bicarbonate treatment a try.

Thanks for the reply Thomsax. Very interesting. The little research I did on Amati Saxes identifies Czechoslovakian roots.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
