Ear Music Composition Challenge (EMC2) is here!

Back from my hols, here's my effort:

Off to listen to everyone else now...

This is very good melodic thinking as you use and repeat your melodic phrase then modify it and carry it forward. I don't know if you planned this or it came naturally. As you develop your playing skills keep and develop this melodic thinking and you'll be way ahead of the game.

Thanks Wade. When I solo on guitar I try to play around one or more hooks, I guess the same thing is happening here.

Hi all,

as allways I record/post before listening to other recordings to get the most out of this challenge...

I liked this one a lot I must say, It brought me in a really peacefull place whilst looking out of my window to some big sunny clouds, I made an picture of the clouds and photoshopped the Tui in it (for wade)..

hope you like it!

Yes, I do like it. You've definitely got a melodic thing happening and recognize that getting the mood right is very important. You wander around a bit after a while (I had the same problem) but you didn't loose the mood. As long as you hung out in the mid range all sounded good but there are some problems when venturing higher or lower. Reeds, mouthpiece, or just more practice? No matter as that's not what this exercise is about. Thanks for the Tui and clouds picture. They are an amazing bird and unlike any other I've come across in their sounds and personality.
