Decaf recommendations

I drink about 15 mugs of (Kenco) coffee a day and sometimes had trouble getting to sleep. About 2 years ago I switched to Kenco Decaf and hardly noticed the difference in flavour (I'm sure coffee purists would disagree). No trouble with sleepless nights either.

Marks and Spencer fairtrade Columbian decaff (I think it's Columbian, in silver and blue foil packaging). The first time I drank an espresso made from this I was convinced that they had labelled it wrong. Yet it didn't keep me awake at all, at bedtime 4hrours later.

IMO- its a situation like vegetarian fake meats (a bit of an inadequate compromise and never a patch on the real thing)..... I find decaff just makes me think... Hm, this isn't quite right. My top tip for a coffee substitute (and my favourite new addiction) Chai- spiced Indian tea, absolutely lovely stuff- try chai teabags with a bit of honey, a tiny sliver of root ginger and a cardamon pod in- then leave to infuse rather longer than normal tea.......

I have to agree with Jules, maybe cut down on the real coffees as i too don't think decaf is any substitute for the real thing, i intersperse my days with lemon and ginger tea i also drink rooibos which is nice as well. I remember well when i lived in Paris i would drink about 10-12 espressos a day, after a year of that, i was on the metro one day and thought my heart my trying to leave my body by banging so hard on my ribs, so i cut down straight away, too much of a good thing. Oh! Try yorkshire tea, lovely and strong.

Thanks all for your suggestions so far. I'm currently on Alta Rica decaf (which isn't great), and the Flavia decaf sachets at work (which aren't great). I tend only to have a couple of cups of coffee a day, and peppermint tea is my preferred non-coffee alternative.

I keep forgetting about Rombouts; I went to school with one of their heirs...

Try Camp coffee. Comes in a bottle, and is mixed with chicory, and sweet, delicious! It's not decaf, but as good as.
Yes, you can still get it.........

Having had to live completely without any caffiene or sparkling drinks for 3 years, I now drink both decaf tea and decaf coffee.
However, rest assured there is still caffiene in both.
My specialist told me that 2 mugs of decaf tea and one of decaf coffee a day was far too much caffiene, so lord only knows what you are doing with 15 cups of the real stuff!
Sadly there is also caffiene in chocolate - this really ruins things for a woman IMHO :)
I just buy supermarket own brand Gold decaf instant coffee, or occasionally Douwe Egberts decaf instant. For the ground stuff, I think we use Taylors, but more than the recommended 1 dessertspoon per cup, possibly 1.5 tbsp.
