hi whilst playing today i started wondering how old my sax was it has a number that starts with 144 and tried to find some where to date it but could not find any where
would any of you know where to look to find out how old it is

You haven't provided much information - but it sounds to me like you own a Selmer (Paris) Mark VI made on the 17th of June 1967 by Henri's younger brother Charles or Chuck to his mates...howzat for research...magic of the interweb and a lot of male bovine faeces...:rofl:

There's a pretty authoritative/comprehensive B&H serial number list somewhere, if I get time later I'll try and find it. I'm not sure how much of the later stuff is in there, though.

Mine is 155195 bought new in the early eighties. I would assume yours is earlier but you never know with these serial numbers.
