My main problem is ,one day i can get the type of tone i want and next day it sounds awful,no consistency. I Think the reason for this is because my bottom lip was becoming very sore after practice so consequently the following day couldnt support my bottom lip with my teeth, must have a weak emboucher.after struggling like this for a time i decided to look into some sort of tooth guard but couldnt seem to find anything,so whilst tidying up one day at work i came across some flexible insulating sleeving and when one gets desperate you try anything,so sliced it open soaked it in salt water and hey presto popped it over bottom teeth and got the best tone ever, not ideal but i'm more than happy until i can find something made for the job..
just thought it was worth sharing:)))

Nice one. Try the exercises in Larry Teal's Art of Saxophone Playing (title may be slightly different, but it's not far off). They help a lot, don't do them in public, you'll get arrested.
