Accessories Cork grease.

But don't use cork grease as lip balm....it smarts. At a recent sit in I had no grease in my case and the neck was a little dry. I'd put some olive oil in my ears before I set off ... ear wax problem ...so a finger in the ear and there was enough for a light application. I noticed the drummer givng me an old fashioned look.

Extra virgin olive oil perhaps?

I've read people saying that poor cork grease rots the cork. I don't know if it's true, or if lip balm will have the same effect. Worst case you're in for a new cork. Unless it affects the mouthpiece as well.

I appreciate the responses. Ear oil, nose oil, KY jelly; thankfully no one suggested toe jam or peanut butter. It's curious how creative some threads can become.

What amazes me is how off topic we can venture at times 🙂

Al, what do you use for your Morse practice? G4FON's Koch Method Trainer (no, come on now chums, you know better than to make something out of that....) is downloadable freeware and very useful.

Young Col, I've been trying the Koch method as offered on LCWO.net. It's free and I like the presentation. You can pick your own character/effective speed, and test when you feel the need. Now that I'm studying music the CW isn't coming along that well, but maybe things will balance out.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
