Conn straight Bb soprano saxophone circa 1928 , good playing order ,£750

For sale, my C.G. Conn Ltd, "New wonder" soprano saxophone in Bb, low (Modern) pitch A=440Hz,
just had a light overhaul and recork, in good playing order with a mix of old & new pads,
plays well throughout the range, with that beautiful, rich, 'open' old American soprano sound.
all the rolled tones holes are in very good, flat condition, no sign of damage, filing or repair,
body is the original nickel (i think) plating which is nearly 100% present and in very nice condition ,
keywork is chrome plated,( i think) , and this plating is quite heavily worn on some key cups and rods - see pics...
no bends, kinks, or repairs that i can see, sax is in good, immediate playing order, i'll try to record a video in the next day or two. in original case which has busted handle :-\

Lovely horn, but i'll stick with my (very similar) Pan American in silver plate and Yamaha 62R,
so this can find a new owner, cause i have TOO MUCH STUFF!

price £750 , includes postage / courier to Uk address, and a 10% donation to Pete's charity.
videos in a day or two, i hope. any questions & pic requests answered here or via PM, or ask for my tel number. ;-)

These are lovely, sweet-sounding sopranos. I have got a gold-plated one from about the same year as yours - I must get it out again and try some Bechet on it.

What mouthpiece are you using to get that lovely tone and decent tuning ?

Good luck with the sale.

Rhys

thanks, Rhys, the mouthpiece on these clips is an old BARI 68 hard rubber, not sure what the reed is, Vandoren blue-box probably ;-)
these sopranos tune well, but mouthpiece position on the neck is critical, ihmo ;-)

here's a different clip, something a little bit more modern ;-)

anyone interested ? or do I have to list it on F-Flat-Bay next week?.......
