Beginner confused of boston (music question)

hi i am confused :w00t:a bit with music,i know about sluring but what happens when the note is on the same line and is next to it with slur link, same thing but the first note is a sixteenth.
do you tounge first but not second ,same with short note would it be like a hicup in front of the note.

In that case it's alled a "tie" and it means its all one note with the combined value of the two (or more) notes so joined.

cheers, it is odd why put a sixteeth in front, this music is writen in a strange way, don't make it easy do they.

Is it the last sixteenth of a group of 4, followed by, say, a quarter or half note? If so, thats the standard way to doi it, so you can see where the beat is falling. I think it's acually less confusing once you get used to it :).

Yes, well laid out music has the notes printed so they match the time signature. As Bigmartin says, once you get used to it, it's much easier that way.
