I got an email from the cafe informing me that the first of the long awaited PPT Alto mpc's was now available, as I have been hoping for the chance to have an alto PPT for a long time I was straight on the link to forum sales area and gladly paid my dues, I opted for the free delivery "having the utmost confidence in our postal system " I think that was on Monday morning, and low and behold there has just been a knock on the door, it was the posty delivering my new PPT.
It was very well packaged in a padded envelope then in a strong cardboard tube which held the mpc and a nice bag to carry it in.
I have rooted out a rovner lig took the Rico Jazz Select 3m off my usual mpc,a Selmer SA80 that I seem to have been tied to for the last few years, installed them on the lovely PPT and the PPT on my trusty 62 and gave it a blow.
Well it's a lovely easy blow with a tonal character of its own with a lot more depth than the SA80 and played easily from the very top F# to the bottom Bb,now I'm certainly no expert but it noticeably improved the depth of tone in the high notes, something that I always thought had been very thin before, and really this continued all the way down and I didn't notice any thing missing in its performance at all.
I'm going to enjoy getting to know this little beauty better I don't need anything else for Christmas now
Thanks Pete it a cracker ......John
