Saxophones Chinese sax necks?

I just purchased another bari (I know, I know, my wife doesn't know yet), and it will arrive without neck or mpc, as advertised. As I looked around the web for a neck to fit a Selmer Bundy baritone, I saw a number of sax necks made in China. None of them has an octave key! What is the story there? I've never had to buy a neck before, so this is new to me. How does that work?

Bari has a short neck and the upper octave pip is down on the pigtail.

Length is important to get it to play in tune.

You'll probably need to get it fitted by a tech. Best way is probably to take it to a tech and not buy one on spec.

You can buy a new Bundy bari neck for $190 at Badger State. If you want to go that route, let me know and I can order one for you. Doctor Sax has a used one on his website. I have sent an email to see if he still has it. The Bundy bari neck is one of the few that has the upper octave vent on the neck.

Jbt, my Buescher bari has the same neck, with octave vent as in your picture. If you would order the neck for me it would be much appreciated. Now to figure something to tell the wife when the UPS man comes around on Friday. I still wonder about the Chinese neck with no octave vent.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
