Changing the pitch and instruments for various backing tracks

I’ve got a variety of sheet music with backing tracks for both the Alto and Tenor. However, I would like to play various Alto pieces on the Tenor and visa versa. So;

  1. Ideally I would like to play for example a backing track for a score that is written in D Major for the Eb Alto, on my Bb Tenor in D Major so that I can use the same dots as I haven’t got time or the inclination to transpose! Can this be done via an App on my iPod and/or software on my PC?
  2. Also I’d like to play my backing tracks and scores that I have for my Bb Tenor on the Bb Soprano. The problem I’m finding is the pitch is too low. Is there an App for an iPod and/or PC Software that would do the above for me simply?

I use a program called Audacity which lets you change pitch,tempo.
The program is free and easy to use,i often have to change my backing tracks as the singer in the band i am in quite often has to change the key to suit her voice and this enables me to practise these tunes at home once i have changed pitch.

I use the Amazing Slow Downer on my laptop - you can change the speed (really useful when learning a piece) and the pitch of the music independently.

Cheers,
Amanda

Thanks! Never heard of that one! Where can you get it from?

Last I heard about that App that he was having copyright issues and it was pulled from the store 🙁 Hoping that will get sorted out though!

The Amazing Slow Downer is available for download (google search). There is free trial version, and you pay for the full version - I can't remember the cost, but it wasn't expensive, and its dead easy to use!

Thanks Amanda! I'll google it! One thing for sure it needs to be simple with me 🙂))
