Saxophone Congress

I booked my ticket before Christmas and emailed to be entered for a masterclass but still not had a reply.

It looks good value at £45 for the whole weekend (saturday 2pm to Sunday evening) or £30 for a CASS member, you can book just for one day as well.

Hopefully see some of you there

Regards

Dave

People under 25 can still join CASS for a fiver and get full membership for one year.

Jim.

did you make it Dave - how did it go?

Yep I made it for the weekend. Excellent value for money and if they hold it again next year I will be there.

Saturday afternoon was a blowing session with Melanie Henry from Trinity, with about 50 saxes of all shapes and sizes including a contrabass that took 2 people to carry upstairs.

A concert in the evening was given by the students of Trinity and the standard was superb and bodes well for the future of music.

Sunday was made up of workshops, discussions, masterclasses and concerts. I saw Mario Marzi play, accompanied by an accordion player, Wow they were stunning, they have some stuff on youtube.

To finish was a bigger concert with a wide range of styles and nationalities. This alone was worth the ticket money.

I would recommend that we all keep an eye out for next years event and if you can, then make a weekend of it.

regards

Dave
